VETERAN'S GARDEN
Location: QUEENS, NY
The Veterans Memorial Garden is a living memorial occupying a space in front of Queens Borough Hall that was formerly a barren lawn that woefully underserved the busy civic center. Dedicated to the men and women of Queens who served their country, the garden is experienced sequentially, with quotations expressing themes of remembrance and inscribed into the garden walls and benches. The Veterans Memorial Garden remains the site of ceremonial functions, but is also used daily by those who live and work in the area.
